Liz’s strongest attribute is her willingness and desire to try and understand her client’s needs

We first met Liz Lord in the most coincidental manner some 15 months before we closed on the residence/home we secured in early September 2020. With Liz’s expertise, dedication, responsiveness and patience, we were able to get our current place with our first offer. In retrospect that was due largely to Liz’s careful tailored knowledge to our particular needs and wants and her overall knowledge of the market, trends, what works when it comes to making an offer, advocating for us and a result of building a relationship with us over that 15 month period.  We met her while we didn’t have an agent while waiting to see a place that was listed for an open house. Several months later we remembered her and met with her. We were relatively new to the northern Virginia area and new to the experience of homebuying. In no way did we ever feel pressured or rushed for us to tackle the first steps that I imagine some other realtors may do to make it worth their while. She was accommodating to our requests to arrange viewings of places on weekday evenings and weekends. She recommended to us several mortgage lenders and left that decision and process to us. When the pandemic hit it was business as usual with the exception of calibrating to the social distancing requirements.   I think Liz’s strongest attribute is her willingness and desire to try and understand her client’s needs and wants while working within the parameters set by the client. When we expressed an interest in a place and then decided not to put an offer, she wanted to know what were the specific reasons so that other searches could be better tailored. In addition to understanding us, she understands the contours of this market. Pre-pandemic versus post-pandemic circumstances, what will make your offer the most attractive, behind-the-scenes advocating and communicating and a refined knowledge of the northern Virginia market trends. When we put in our offer we were mentally prepared for the fact it may not go through. But she also helped us keep things in perspective and not go over a reasonable bump over the listed price as one may be tempted to do in the heat of competitive offers. Perhaps it’s because we have children the same age that Liz was able to understand us and really work as our agent. Overall I would highly recommend Liz if you’re looking for an agent who knows the northern Virginia area (Arlington, Fairfax, Loudon and perhaps Prince William – we never asked if that’s part of what she covers).
